Ok, I got the shampoo machine in our pantry recognized. So I decide to vacuum the downstairs, which has it's own vacuum cleaner......
Figured out how to turn it on but could not figure out how to make the handle tilt. So after 15 minutes of cursing and stomping around and trying to vacuum with the handle upright (which does not work by the way), I finally found it and cleaned one room. Unplugged it and went to the next room......
Ok, we are not even talking five minutes here....I forgot how to tilt the handle again!!!!! So after another wasted 15 minutes, I finally gave up and put the thing away!!!!!!
I do not think I am made to be domesticated?????

I know I probably should not admit this but figured you needed a good chuckle.
Remember I had trouble figuring out how to turn on the vacuum sweeper? But I figured it out and huffed and puffed to vacuum all of the main level carpet. The damn sweeper was so heavy and it did not seem to be picking much up, so I was telling my hubby about it, while informing him that vacuuming would now be HIS job and I would clean everything else.
You have to remember that I have been a very well paid Queen Executive for many years with a weekly maid service until my retirement.....
So as we are discussing my irritation with the sweeper, come to find out I had used the carpet cleaning machine, not the vacuum!!! DUH??? How was I supposed to know, they looked the same to me?? No wonder it was not picking up the cat hair....
Okay, my first brain fart as a domestic goddess, but I'm sure there will be more??
Loves from the Domesticated Queen
The good: Making appointments mid-day during the week, no alarm clocks, using 1/4 tank of gas in two weeks versus three full fill-ups, no traffic two hours per day, taking my time at the grocery store instead of rushing in and out in a hurry, no talk radio on drives to and from work twice a day (definitely keeps blood pressure down), eating at 6 PM instead of 8 PM, no need to purchase new clothes or shoes or purses or jewelry, lunch on the screened porch in beautiful weather, loving my kitty cats all day long, saving money by cooking at home and hopefully losing some pounds too!
The bad: Re-learning how to use the vacuum cleaner and trying to remember what day it is!!!!!!
The ugly: Seeing me without make-up in my jammies!!!
Love it
Love it
Love it
Can someone tell me why I do not have the ability to post photos or change fonts or even do correct paragraphs on this damn Typepad account???
Loves from The Queen, now a Domestic Goddess as well.....
I have been retired two weeks now!!! It is WONDERFUL!!!!!
What have I been doing?
Totally going through my craft room moving things around, cleaning, sorting, rearranging......it looks great.
Of course here I am at 10:00 am sitting on the screened porch writing this and drinking coffee, so I guess that is where a lot of the time goes?. I have read eight Sue Grafton mystery books as well. Clean house? Oops, forgot about that so far. But I have been cooking which my hubby is thankful for (he is obviously easy to please)!!!!
This "new and improved" Typepad account sucks, I cannot load any photos or change fonts or colors?? Well, let me rephrase that, I DO NOT KNOW HOW TO??
The weather has been absolutely gorgeous except for the pine dust (which is why I have waited for any deep cleaning)!!!!
Since I cannot figure out how to work this damn thing, I guess I will "manually" say:
