I had some extra time over the long holiday weekend, so made up a few new cards.
And yes, Jenny/Miriam/Robin, I have used the new die cuts AND the background embossing! And yes, my fish has a blurry eye because I could not get the Copic marker to de-smudge it???
I am the guest designer at the website shown above, my second and final for the month. This one was to include "fabric" so I did a tiny crazy-quilt sized for a card.
Time for the weekly blog hop at www.stamping-ground.blogspot.com. Here are a few valentines I made, most of them from Outlines rubber stamps. Their images are so fun to color and layer.
I had a FANTASTIC class on Saturday at On The Rocks jewelry supply store. The teacher showed us how to take better photographs of our jewelry. I have a new camera and do not even know how to use it yet, but I had been doing absolutely EVERYTHING wrong! I did not even know there was a MACRO lens for close-ups, what a difference! And I had been using the flash, which is a big no-no with the photo tent and side lighting. And the backdrops behind the item makes a huge difference too. On top of that, she showed us how to edit our photos on Picaso which is a free photo editing system, like PhotoShop except only much less features and a lot easier to use. There is enough for what I want to do anyway! So I was playing around with one of my vintage necklaces and I think it turned out pretty well for my FIRST TIME????
So I am excited to practice and maybe get some better photographs along the way. Anything would be better than those I have done.....no comments please!
Look at this adorable card made by my friend, Jenny. Her blog is www.onekraftykat.blogspot.com and it is full of her beautiful card creations. She is on several design teams, including Outlines Rubber Stamps at www.outlinerubberstamp.com (notice no "s" on the word stamp). She is one of seven of us who have a monthly rubber stamping club called the Krafty Kats.
This card below is the one she made me (THE QUEEN) for my birthday!
And if anyone wants to "pig out" over the weekend, here's the perfect way to do it:
OMG, are they precious or what? Tommy, can I bring them home????? Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeze?
Gee, I am a "celebrity" again today! Happy Dance. Go to www.bellichallenge.blogspot.com and see the write-up. I hate that picture, I look mean as a snake!!!! But I hate having my picture taken, so always scrowl. These are the items they posted:
And here I am in all of my glory, looking like a Queen Bitch!!!! No comments, Jenny!
I will be back in two weeks at Belli with another project.
Isn't that title hilarious? It was a card I saw with three dogs on it, too cute!
During my blog hopping adventures today, I found a marvelous doll artist. She mainly creates only Halloween dolls. They are just adorable. The website is www.joycestahl.blogspot.com for her "enchanted production dolls."
Aren't they just adorable? I asked her if she would make me a Queen doll.
Do you love Patience Brewster drawings? She has cards and ornament designs for Studio 57, very whimsical and precious. If you want to see some cuties, go to www.patiencebrewster.com. I've seen some of the cards in stores, but she has the entire line for sale on the website.
These are a few Halloween cards I made over the weekend. They are very, very simple - nothing fancy - but the papers were so pretty and the kitty cat stamps are just so adorable!!! Sorry about the red line down the middle of the scanned Xerox copies (am I lazy or what). My scanner does that and Mr. Techie Ass cannot fix it.....
I don't think I have ever made Halloween cards, but these critter stamps just got me in the mood.
Our card-making club all sent in cards together a while back. The first photo shows MY card and my friend Miriam's card on the same page! The second photo is the magazine cover.
